You must be at least 18 years old to buy Ekominnen, and the storyteller must also be at least 18.

Ekominnen is an online service. Ekominnen holds voice conversations with a storyteller, stores the recordings, notes memories and writes chapters from what is told. The chapters can be read, edited, read aloud and downloaded. Finished chapters are read aloud in Eko's voice and get painted pictures, and background music can play in listening mode.

Each year also includes the chapters as a PDF book, to download and print, and as an audiobook in Eko's voice. The PDF book, the audiobook and the pictures can be downloaded when the withdrawal period is over. During the withdrawal period, the chapters can be read and listened to in the app. A printed book is not included.

One purchase covers one storyteller.

Each year is a separate purchase. Ekominnen does not renew automatically.

If you buy Ekominnen for yourself, the year starts when you add the storyteller. If Ekominnen is bought as a gift, the year starts when the gift is activated. If a new year is bought while the storyteller already has a year, the new year starts when the current one ends.

If you do not buy another year, the stories remain available to read and download, but no new conversations can be held.

Each year includes an amount of conversations, pictures and narration, about 10 hours of conversation. The app shows in a meter how much is left, as a percentage and as roughly how many minutes of conversation it is enough for. The minutes are an estimate based on how the account has used Ekominnen. Pictures and narration draw from the same meter. The meter covers the account and all its storytellers, and if the account has several ongoing years they are added together. What is left of the year's amount does not carry over to the next year.

During the withdrawal period, a purchased year counts as one fifth of the year's amount, about 2 hours of conversation. When the withdrawal period is over, the whole year's amount is available. More time counts in full during the withdrawal period too.

A conversation can be at most 60 minutes long. Conversation time is the time between replies, and a pause counts as at most 5 minutes. From minute 55, Eko starts to wrap up, and when the time is up the storyteller's last answer is saved.

When the meter is empty, no new conversations, pictures or narration can be made. An ongoing conversation may finish within a couple of minutes, and everything that already exists can always be read and listened to. It can also be downloaded, with the exceptions in the section Right of withdrawal.

To protect the service, there are also daily limits on how many new conversations, chapters, translations, read-alouds, chapter audio and pictures an account can make.

More time costs ⁨SEK 99⁩ and adds about one more hour of conversation to the meter. More time can be bought when the account has an ongoing year. It is used for conversations with the storytellers on the account who have an ongoing year, and can also be used for pictures and narration. It is valid for 12 months from the purchase.

What expires first is used first: the year's amount is used before time bought during the year, and time left over when a new year starts is used before the new year's amount. Time that has not been used within 12 months expires.

You have the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days (Chapter 2, Section 10 of the Swedish Distance and Off-Premises Contracts Act). If the last day falls on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, you can withdraw until the next weekday inclusive.

The service: the withdrawal period starts on the day the agreement is made (Chapter 2, Section 12). You can ask for the service to start during the withdrawal period. If you withdraw within the period, you still get the full amount back. During the withdrawal period, the limit in the section The year's conversations and the meter applies, and the PDF book, the audiobook and the pictures can only be downloaded when the period is over. If you withdraw, they cannot be downloaded. If you withdraw, you can on request receive what has been created, such as transcripts and chapters, in a machine-readable format (Chapter 2, Section 14 a).

More time: the withdrawal period starts on the day of the purchase. If you withdraw within the period, you get back the part of the amount that corresponds to the time that has not been used, calculated on how much of the purchase's time was left when you withdrew. The time that has been used is not refunded, and the time that is left is removed from the meter.

Gifts: the right of withdrawal belongs to the person who bought the gift. If the buyer withdraws, the recipient's year ends, and the stories remain available to read and download.

How to withdraw: press Withdraw from contract here under My purchases and confirm (Chapter 2, Section 10 a), or send a clear message to ⁨hej@ekominnen.se⁩ within the withdrawal period. You may use the Swedish Consumer Agency's withdrawal form, but you do not have to. We make the refund without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day we received your message (Chapter 2, Section 14).

The service: defects in the service can be reported during the period in which the service is to be provided (Chapter 9, Section 7 of the Consumer Sales Act).

The questions, memories and chapters are written with AI (Google's Gemini). The chapters' audio and pictures are also made with Gemini, and the background music was made in advance with Google's AI model Lyria. The pictures show places, objects and atmosphere, never people, and are labelled Illustration. Ekominnen checks every chapter and every memory against what was said in the conversations and marks what did not pass the check. AI can still make mistakes. Read the chapters and change anything that is not right.

Conversations can only start once the storyteller's consent has been confirmed. How Ekominnen handles personal data is described in the privacy policy.
